ACW07: First International Workshop on Agent supported Cooperative Work

In today’s challenging global market, companies have to innovate in order to improve competitiveness and business performance. They must bring innovative products to market more effectively and more quickly to maximize customer interest and sales. The pressures to reduce time, improve product quality, and lower costs have not gone away; they are being reaffirmed and folded into programs that focus on delivering the “right” product. Companies must continue to enter new markets with innovative products. This requires leveraging and reusing the product-related intellectual capital created by partners working together. Business innovation must occur in several dimensions: project organization, product definition, production engineering, ergonomics design, environmental impacts, etc. Several approaches exist for supporting companies in this innovation challenge. They are mainly based upon Knowledge Management techniques. Agents and Multi-Agent Systems may offer solutions to model (multiple) organisations involved in collaborative design activities. Agents may also support the capitalization process and constitute knowledge bases transparently for the users. This workshop will focus on the use of agents and multi-agent systems for modelling and supporting collaborative design activities in the context of a knowledge management approach.

Submission

You are invited to submit full length papers, not exceeding 4-6 pages (3000-4000 words) in length, in two-column format including diagrams and references, following IEEE publication guidelines. Papers that do not follow these guidelines may be rejected without consideration of their merits.


Papers must be submitted electronically to the contact point in PDF format. All workshops will be published by IEEE in a single total conference volume and fully indexed by IEEE Xplore. Selected papers after extension will be published in the following journals:

  • Journal of Information Assurance and Security (JIAS) (ISSN 1554-1010)
  • International Journal of Computanional Intelligence Research (ISSN 0973-1873)

All papers will be reviewed by at least three Program Committee members on the basis of technical quality, originality, clarity, and relevance to the track topics listed below. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. At least one author of each paper must attend the workshop to present the paper.


Camera Ready papers should follow the IEEE conference templates.

Registration

Registration

We would like to inform you that a secure payment system is now available for registration. Please check the website at icdim.insa-lyon.fr for the workshop registration. You must register ONLINE before September 3rd, 2007. If you have already sent your registration form by fax, we are sorry to inform you that we have not yet processed the payment transaction. Please re-submit your registration through the online registration system. You will not be charged twice.

Visa

In case you are in need of an invitation letter to apply for an entry visa, please contact us at your earliest convenience. Entry visas to FRANCE can be obtained at French Embassies and Consulates abroad. Please anticipate a minimum of three weeks to fulfill visa request requirements.

Accommodation

The conference website provides a non exhaustive list of hotels with their contact information and the special fare code. You are responsible for your own organization, booking and payment of hotels. We highly recommend that you secure your accommodation as soon as possible as hotels are quickly filled.

Transport

Once you arrive at the Lyon Saint Exupery Airport you can opt to take either a taxi or the Satobus shuttle (www.satobus.com) to Part Dieu for a two-way ticket which costs 15.20 euros. In addition, you will receive in your registration materials full day tickets to access Lyon's transport network (including buses, tramways and the subway).
